Three days is enough to enjoy Pula without hurrying: a day for the town, a day for the coast, and a third for a proper day trip. This plan adds a full excursion and keeps one evening free for the Arena or the old town. It builds on the two days in Pula version, so start there if you have less time.
Day one: the Roman core
Arena at opening, then down through the Arch of Sergii to the Forum and the Temple of Augustus. Lunch in the market hall, cool off in Zerostrasse, and swim at Ambrela before sunset. The one day in Pula plan has the timings.
Day two: a beach morning, then relax
Take the morning slowly on Verudela, or drive south to Cape Kamenjak for the clearest water in the region, where car entry is about €10 a day. Spend the afternoon in a konoba rather than sightseeing. In the evening, see a concert at the Pula Arena if the season’s programme lands that night, or just walk the lit old town and sit on the Forum.
Day three: a full day trip
Pick one. Rovinj is the easiest car-free option: the bus runs 30 to 40 minutes, from about €7, with more than 20 departures a day in season, and the old town is built for a slow day of wandering and dinner. Stretching further
Three days in the city plus a trip is a solid Istria taste, but the peninsula has more: the hill towns of Motovun and Grožnjan, the Lim Fjord, the truffle forests.
